Improving Care Outcomes for
Genetic Kidney Disease
“Genomics is the one technology that has the greatest opportunity to change healthcare for the better.”
In 2023 we celebrate 10 years since the first Renal Genetics Clinic in Australasia.
This pioneering clinic was established at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital in collaboration with Genetics Health Queensland. Subsequently, additional clinics were established at Westmead Hospital in Sydney and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Since then, there has been rapid expansion, resulting in a current network of 20 clinics as part of affiliations with Genomics Health Alliance groups like Australian Genomics.
In 2023, we reflect on how far we have come since those early beginnings. It also serves as a platform for reviewing our achievements thus far and setting our sights on future objectives such as reporting on the progress made within the HIDDEN flagship program, integrating findings from CEDAR, and advancing initiatives like the MRFF-GHFM KidGen National Kidney Genomics Program.
Current Programs
Our current focus is on ensuring we can provide as many people in Australia who have genetic kidney disease with a diagnosis as possible, through cutting-edge research. At the same time, our team is ensuring everything we learn is made available in the health system.
Let’s Work Together
We’re always looking for new opportunities and are comfortable working internationally. Please get in touch and one of our program managers will contact you about beginning the proposal process.
